Warning Don’t Get Strayed Portion For Reading : 13-16
1. Prophets: Duet 13:1-5
If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, "Let us follow other gods" (gods you have not known) "and let us worship them,” you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. That prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he preached rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery; he has tried to turn you from the way the LORD your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.
Application: Do not go after prophet they will mislead you sometimes, as Bible says in 1Thes 5:19-22 (NIV)
19. Do not put out the Spirit's fire;
20. Do not treat prophecies with contempt.
21. Test everything. Hold on to the good.
22. Avoid every kind of evil.
Test everything, and hold on to the good by confirming with the Word of God.
2. Brother, Sister, Son or Daughter, Wife or Friends: Duet 13:6-8
If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him.
Application: Beware of people close to you, whom you love very much, Satan can use them as a weapon to lead you astray from God. For Example King Solomon was enticed by his 700 wives to worship other Gods.
3. People, Cult, Groups, Organization, School & College Friends OR Town Peoples: Duet 13: 12 -15
If you hear it said about one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you to live in that wicked men have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods you have not known), then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you, you must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. Destroy it completely, both its people and its livestock.
Application: There are many groups and people approaching the children of God, in the name of Jesus or GOD, and enticing them to others God, by diverting them from the Truth. Therfore know there ways and destroy there thoughts before they can overcome you, and mediate the Word of God evening and morning.
I John 4:1-3Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
Rom 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
