Sauls Unrepented Heart Brought His Own Downfall

Portion For Reading 1 Sam11-13
Passage : I Samuel 13 :11-15
This should be a familiar passage to you my friend in christ but even if it is not just reading these five verses will be so meaningful to you. Kingsaul was ordered by the lord God to obey his commandment. King Saul did not do so and did not repent of his sin. instead of learning from his mistakeshe once again disobeyed the lord God repeatedly.

Just as king Sauls kingdom was taken away from him and given to David we too may lose our spiritual gifts and possessions if we do not obey the lord God. we may think that godcan not use anyone else besides us. However if god can use a donkey to talk to Balaam and a stone to slay goliath, than God will wipe us out of his kingdom if we do not obey his commandments. we live in world where sin andinquity is taken for granted. we feel that since there is forgiveness fromgod we can sin freely or when we feel like it.

That is a false misconception. We are human beings and we are prone to make mistakes butthere are sins that we do knowingly and sins that we commit unknowingly, even if we commit a very dirty sin that make seem unforgivable, we have anopprotunity to repent of our iniquity as well as change our ways and move onwith our life. however that is not what is happening today many of us ourlike king saul who would not change his bad life style instead continued it. we make think that gods grace is sufficient for every single sin that wecommit but we must always remember that whatever we sow we will later reap.

After a while the sin that we continually commit will no longer remain as in, instead that sin will become a bad habit in our life. it is very difficult to get rid of bad habits once we start doing it on a daily basis. just like the prophet samuel said to king saul “obedience is better thansacrifice.” god does not care if you are an active member of a church or ifyou pray and fast reverently. he wants to see if you can obey his commandments. lets take a decision today my friend in christ to obey the commandments of god. if we do not do so god will find someone else besides yourself to obey his command.

God bless you!
