Portion for Reading 1 Sam 14-16Passage : 1 Samuel 16: 6-13
The prophet Samuel was so upset and distressed at the fact that king Saulwas not obeying the commandments of God and that he was rejected as king ofIsrael by the lord God. Samuel would than go to the house of Jesse toanoint the next king of Israel.
Just like Samuel we as believers always look at the appearance of people. We assume that if the outward appearance of an individual is good than that individual is a good person that is not theway it works all the time. Some people may have a good and cleanappearance on the outside but their heart is so dirty and filthy.
God does not look at how you appear or how you dress up but how your heart and soulact, the same is happening today in our churches, there are manyevangelists, pastors, teachers etc. who have good positions in the churchand high doctrine degrees and it may be presumed that they are ofhigh-quality behavior. However it is the opposite their demeanor is foul and unclean, on the other hand there might be standard believers who areregular people who have no positions or degrees and are not even handsome.

However their heart and character are pure before the sight of God and thusthey are peculiar in Gods presence, in fact at present many believers arelike a beautiful and elegant mansion that looks wonderful and outstanding onthe outer surface. However when you go inside the mansion the wholeinterior residence is a dirty mess, the mansion looks perfect from theoutside but inside it looks imperfect, it is all right to look handsome andto get good positions and degrees but that is not what God wants from us. hewants our hearts to be pure and clean.
David may not have seemed acceptable in the sight of his family but he was more than pleasing in the sight of Godand through that God made him the greatest king in the history of Israel. My friend in Christ lets be more like David and less like the dirty mansion.lets take a decision today to make our heart pure and fresh and surely Godwill do great things through us.
