Anointing Oil

Portion for reading: 28-31

Exodus 30:22-33

We believe the Holy Anointing Oil is not a general purpose anointing oil or perfume, it is for consecration and sanctification purposes as stated in the Old Testament scripture references: Exodus 28:41, 29:7, 29:36, 30:26, 30:30, 40:9, 40:10, 40:11, 40:13, 40:14.

Holy Anointing Oil Formula:
Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil. And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony, And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense, And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot. And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy. And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office. And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations. Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you. Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people. KJV

The Tabernacle Ceremonial Rituals
God instructed Moses to build the tabernacle so that His presence could reside among the children of Israel as a promise and foreshadow of things to come. God also established many ceremonial rituals in the tabernacle to make atonement for sin. This was because the children of Israel lived under the law. God established the law to show that none of us are Holy enough to enter His presence because of our sinful nature. The ceremonial atonement rituals established in the tabernacle were temporary and a foreshadow of God's permanent atonement. In the New Testament, God sends his son, Jesus Christ, to be crucified so that we can may receive the gift of salvation and permanent atonement for our sins.

Prepared to Worship in Spirit and Truth: Five Hundred Shekels of CassiaCassia came from a cleaving vine that grew at high altitudes. This element of the anointing recipe speaks to us worship. True worship will come out of submitting to and becoming established in the government of God. This kind of worship is not just the singing of a song. The lifestyle of Jesus was His worship unto the Father.

In John 14 Jesus said, "God, I have glorified you, now glorify them."
Everything He did was to glorify the Father. The anointing is not about us; it is about glorifying Him. This kind of worship is developed through suffering. The anointing recipe calls for equal amounts, five hundred shekels, of both elements representing suffering and worship.
God orders everything perfectly. We try to enter into true worship, but it must follow suffering and the establishing of God's government. We are not able to truly enter into the higher place of worship if we don't follow God's order

Corporate Anointing From the Olive Press: a Hin of Olive Oil
We are all like olives in the press of God. If you take one olive and put it in the press, you have only a tiny drop of oil. But God is putting the Body of Christ together like olives in an olive press, because He wants the amount of oil that can only come from the corporate anointing, which is what the hin of olive oil represents. The oil will not flow unless it is under pressure. That is why we see so much warfare in different regions and why we see churches going through so much hell. God has put the whole church in His big olive press and the olives are not quietly enjoying the process. They just want to move around and get out of fellowship with each other. When this oil comes out of the press it is green, which speaks of grace. So when the oil begins to flow it speaks of the sweet, virgin grace of God, flowing and mixing together in a perfect blend.

The anointing was not meant to be carried by one man. Every part of the body has a function. Every member of the Body of Christ needs to discover its function and corporately come together into this olive press to let God pour the anointing. When Moses came to God and said, "Show me your glory", God covered him by placing him in the cleft of the rock (Jesus) and only allowed him to see His afterglow because the glory of God would kill a man. But when we come together, hidden in Christ, with one spirit and one mind with Christ, we become the corporate man and we are able to carry the glory. The corporate man will look just like Christ. When Ezekiel stood in the valley of dry bones, he saw the corporate man develop. First there were only dry bones, Then the skin, all the covering, and suddenly there was a man filled with spirit.
