How does Satan deceive us? He deceived us in two ways.I. Strategy of filling the blank: Devil is deceiver; he knows very well how to confuse us. And he will always put us or catch us in a situation where he will make us fill in the blanks.
For example he will ask a question and you will end up answering it just like Eve.
a. Question: "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"
b. Answer: “The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "
II. Through a lie: He knows very well to manipulate the lie in such a manner that it will seem as if it was the truth.
a. Lie: In Chapter 3 verse 4 “You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman” is the lie that he tries to engrave into the woman’s heart.
b. Convincing the lie: And in verse 5 he influences the woman by convincing the lie by saying "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
And after every deception there is a confrontation with God.
When ever you find yourself deceived by the Satan, you will know that there is something wrong. Then you will find yourself being confronted by God and through His word and you will realize that you were deceived. God’s questions are filled with authority and God’s instructions from His word are clear cut.
In Genesis 3 God asked such questions:
Where are you? Vs 9
Who told you that you were naked? Vs11
What is this you have done? Vs 13
Satan is the father of liars. He will use the closest mean to deceive us. Do not be deceived by Satan always when in doubt or trouble measure your self and your thoughts through the word of God and it will lead you towards the right path. So raise your guards like it instructs us in 1 Peter 5:8,9 “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”
